4 Days Kashmir Trip Itinerary

Day-1 – Arrival at Srinagar and sightseeing

Upon arriving at Srinagar airport, drive to the city and check in at the hotel or boathouses booked in advance. Take some time to rest and freshen up, after that, then start exploring Srinagar. Walk along Boulevard Road and take in the breathtaking views of the Zabarwan Mountain Ranges.

Next sightseeing is the Mughal Gardens which include Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and other lovely gardens situated on the Eastern Bank of Dal Lake that is the first destination on the wonderful Kashmir tour itinerary. They rank among the most well-liked and often visited tourist destinations in Srinagar. The gardens are renowned for their architecture from the Mughal era. This place exudes peace and serenity thanks to the fragrant flowers and beautiful green grass. You can simply opt to sit and take in the scenery, or you might also take leisurely walks through the garden. Visit Tulip Garden as well.

This tulip garden is the biggest in the Asian region. With a stunning view of the captivating Dal Lake, it is situated on the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain range. With its 48 different species of tulips, this garden house draws visitors from all over the world.  Next, proceed to Chashme Shahi later, which is known for its organic spring, and it is one of Srinagar’s three Mughal gardens. The garden is still open from March through November. Another wonder is Pari Mahal which is located just above Chashme Shahi Garden. This garden has seven terraces which are well-known for being the residence of angels or fairies. Here, you may see plantations of exotic fruits and vibrant flowers.

It’s possible to enjoy a leisurely one-hour Shikara ride at Dal Lake later in the evening. Enjoy taking some stunning photos of the lake with the Himalayan peaks in the distance and a blanket of lotus blossoms all around. After this ride, one can go shopping in Srinagar. Saffron, dried fruits, pashmina shawls, rugs, miniature houseboats, and other products are popular buying items.

After dinner head back to the hotel or houseboat for the night.

Day-2 Pahalgam sightseeing

After breakfast start your day by moving towards Pahalgam to see some of its well-known sights. You will pass through saffron fields along the route which are covered with purple blossoms during the season. It’s a stunning sight! The interesting Betaab Valley named for the well-known Bollywood film Betaab was filmed here and will be the first stop on the Pahalgam trip. With its verdant surroundings, imposing mountains, breathtaking meadows, charming streams, and much more, it is a perfect setting fit for a picture.

The lovely Lidder River flows through this valley as well. Once you soak yourself in the beauty of Betaab Valley we will travel the next 7 km to Chandanwari by car. The valley is located around 2900 meters above sea level. It also serves as the beginning point of the well-known Hindu pilgrimage known as the Amarnath Yatra. From November to May, it is blanketed in snow and provides stunning views of glaciers moving into River Lidder.

At 2,414 meters above sea level, the charming Aru Valley will be your final stop of the day. Its breathtaking natural splendor which includes snow-capped mountains, mesmerizing lakes, and lovely meadows will rejuvenate your senses. This place also offers horseback riding. This valley is an excellent place to go skiing and heli-skiing in the winter. Also, all the trekking expeditions to Tarsar Marsar Lake and Kolahoi Glacier use it as a base camp.

Lastly, return to Srinagar in the evening and spend a restful night in a hotel or houseboat.

Day-3 – Gulmarg sightseeing

Head towards Gulmarg, a flower-filled valley tucked away in the Pir Panjal Mountain on your third day. Do not miss the Gulmarg Gondola, the cable vehicle that provides sweeping views of the snow-covered peaks, to start your day. A visit to the Apharwat Peak, where people engage in a variety of winter sports, including skiing and snowboarding, should be on your four-day agenda for Kashmir during the winter months.

The ninth-highest peak in the world, Nanga Parbhat may also be visible if the weather permits. An easy 3-to-4-hour hike will get to Khilanmarg as well. There are also chair lifts accessible for mountain riding. Explore the famous Gulmarg Golf Course which is one of the highest in the world and St. Mary’s Church in the afternoon. In the evening, head back to Srinagar and unwind at your hotel or boathouse while savoring the memories of an exciting day. After this exhausting day spent the night and a delicious dinner in Srinagar.
